Kitchen
Whether it is small or large, your kitchen should be a well-designed place where you love cooking and spending time with your family. To accomplish this there are many factors to consider when remodeling your kitchen.
- Layout: The layout of your kitchen must be thought out from every possible aspect, from the functionality of your appliances, to the accessibility of multiple people moving about. There are five basic kitchen layouts that predetermine the shape of the kitchen. These being a single wall, gallery, L-shaped, G-shaped or U-shaped.
- Cabinets: With convenience being so important in today’s lifestyles, there have never been more options in kitchen cabinets. From pull out shelves to built in spice racks there are endless possibilities. Selections of kitchen cabinets vary from stock cabinets (least expensive), semi-custom to custom made cabinets (most expensive).
- Countertops: Countertops should be picked out after your cabinets. Choosing a material can be a dizzying decision as there is a huge selection available. We are always making sure we have the latest materials available. Engineered stone products have become a large part of this market. These are products that are made using natural and artificial materials. Some of the current materials include Corian, Swanstone, DuPont Zodiaq®, Cambria Quartz, and Silestone. However our most popular and durable material in counter tops is still by far and away granite. Granite comes in a wide variety of colors and prices. Marble is likely to show stains and scratches so it’s more often used in bathrooms rather than kitchens. With the addition of (lower cost) pre-fabricated granite to the US marketplace, Formica and other laminate materials have become something of the past. Ceramic tiles may both be used for counter or backsplash. However, Ceramic tile can become a higher maintenance countertop.
- Backsplash: Granite, marble, ceramic tiles and glass block are all great materials for backsplashes. We will work closely with you to pick out a stunning combination to give your kitchen a luxurious and sophisticated appearance.
- Flooring: Kitchen flooring varies from hardwood and laminate to marble and tiles. The flooring material and the color will depend on the color and style of kitchen cabinets. In order to create a flawless look the colors of the kitchen cabinets and flooring should be rather similar, unless trying to create a more dramatic impression.
- Islands and Peninsulas: Kitchen islands have become the main attraction in the kitchen by adding more storage and counter space and also creating entertainment areas for family and friends. Islands can either have a sink, a cook top or a bar area. The height of an island should be well-designed for chairs and stools to create a pleasant sitting area. Kitchen peninsulas are also another way to create informal sitting area and add more storage space by installing drawers and compartments in its base. Peninsulas are usually attached to one wall and works well in small kitchen where there is no room for an island. It may function as an aesthetic barrier between the kitchen and a living room or a small home office.
With these elements put together properly you will form an efficient design that complements your lifestyles as well as your home.
During your remodel you will be in constant contact with an office representative to make sure you’re completely satisfied. All work and change orders are done with written agreements to avoid verbal confusion. This allows our customers to know exactly what’s going on at all times.
